Etihad Airways’ Expanding Presence

Etihad Airways is gearing up for expansion in both the US and India. The airline has declared Boston as its fourth destination in the United States. 

Furthermore, two new destinations in Kerala, Kozhikode, and Thiruvananthapuram, are set to see Etihad USA to India flights starting January 2024.

The competition with Emirates and Qatar Airways is heating up as Etihad becomes the second airline to operate at Calicut International Airport, Kozhikode. This move promises affordable options for travelers heading to Thiruvananthapuram from the USA via Abu Dhabi.

Etihad Airways’ Boston to India service is scheduled to take off on March 31, 2024.

Turkish Airlines’ Strategic Routes

Turkish Airlines is making waves with its new service from Detroit connecting to India via Istanbul. Commencing on November 15, 2023, these thrice-a-week flights to India are set to increase to four times a week in 2024. 

Turkish Airlines aims to become the first Middle East carrier catering to Detroit in the Midwest.

In addition to providing cost-effective tickets to India from the USA, Turkish Airlines offers advantages over other carriers connecting Detroit to India. Denver and Orlando are potential destinations on the horizon for Turkish Airlines in the United States.

Air France’s Outreach to New Destinations

For North Carolina Indians, Air France brings good news with a new route from Raleigh starting October 30, 2023. This route connects to India via Paris, offering an alternative to the two-stop itineraries originating in Charlotte.

Minneapolis is another upcoming destination for Air France. The flights scheduled will take off in May 2024, along with an increase in service frequency to/from Dallas-Fort Worth Airport.

Air India’s Non-Stop Services

Air India plans to expand its nonstop flights to India service to Boston and Los Angeles. The airline aims to provide direct flight services to the sizable Indian communities in these cities.

There’s also speculation about introducing Dallas and Atlanta to Air India’s US network in 2024.

Kuwait Airways’ Strategic Move

Kuwait Airways is set to launch flights from Washington Dulles on December 15, 2023.

These USA to India flights will become the second US gateway for the airline. This service will seamlessly connect to Delhi and Mumbai via Kuwait City.

United Airlines Looking Forward To Reinstate Suspended Routes

To regain its foothold in the US-India nonstop travel market, United Airlines is reinstating its nonstop service on previously suspended routes. 

The Chicago to Delhi nonstop service resumes on March 20, 2024. However, the exact dates for Newark to Mumbai and San Francisco to Delhi are yet to be announced.

Responding to the growing demand, United Airlines is doubling its daily flights between Newark EWR and Delhi IGI Airport starting October 29, 2023.

Lufthansa’s Expansive Plans

Lufthansa is expanding its presence in the United States, introducing daily service to and from Seattle on May 30, 2024. This will be further connected to India via Munich or Frankfurt.

In India, Hyderabad is the newest destination for Lufthansa flights to India from the USA via Frankfurt, starting from January 16, 2024. Additionally, Minneapolis will see Lufthansa’s five weekly services from June 4, 2024.

Another reason why the airline is in the news is because of the introduction of a premium economy. Adding a touch of luxury, Lufthansa’s new travel cabins with Premium Economy seats will debut in 2024.
